1. Why do I need TrackItBack ID Labels?
You depend more than ever on your cell phone, Blackberry, laptop, iPod, digital camera and other valuable items. If you ever lose them, TrackItBack provides a simple, effective, low-cost way to virtually guarantee that you’ll get them back.

2. How long is my TrackItBack service good for?
All TrackItBack ID labels purchased online and provided to Finders as a reward, come with one (1) year of free recovery service. If your personal item is lost we take care of all the necessary arrangements and cover all the costs of having your item returned to you. Extended coverage can be applied to ID labels using credits available for purchase within your TrackItBack account. Our service can be extended by one (1) year, two (2) years, or to Lifetime Coverage. To extend your coverage, please visit your Item List in ‘My TrackItBack Account’.

3. Am I still protected after my coverage expires?
After your coverage has expired, TrackItBack no longer covers the costs of having your item returned to you. If an expired item is lost and found, we still return the item but there is a charge of $49.95 to cover shipping, handling and administration costs.

4. How does TrackItBack protect my privacy?
TrackItBack never gives owner information to Finders, or any third parties. We facilitate the return of your item acting as an intermediary, meaning that owner and finder’s information is kept separate and completely confidential.

5. Why doesn’t the finder just contact me?

  • No ID
    The finder can’t determine the owner if your item has no identification, has a dead battery, has a password, or is out of service range.
  • Different Language
    The finder doesn't speak your language.
  • Inconvenient Return Process
    Returning your item is time-consuming or expensive for the finder.
  • No Reward Guarantee
    The finder is not guaranteed a reward.

6. Why don’t I just write my name on my valuable items?
Putting personal information on your valuable items puts you at risk for ID theft and ransom. TrackItBack acts as an intermediary. For example, information on your employer or address might entice a finder to request a high reward.

7. Why don’t I just buy insurance?

  • Different Item
    We recover your actual items – the one with your ringtones, photos,
    downloads and data. Insurance replaces your item but not your customized data.
  • Slower
    We recover most items within 1 day. Insurance typically takes 7 days.
  • More Expensive Now
    The ID label is a small expense. Insurance charges large, annual premiums.
  • More Expensive Later
    We charge no recovery fee. Insurance charges a large deductible and raises your premium if you file a claim.
  • Inconvenient
    We handle the recovery. Insurance typically makes you file a police report and complete paperwork.

8. What if I lose my item internationally?
TrackItBack operates globally as the world’s largest lost & found recovery service, returning personal items from almost every corner of the world! We have offices in the United States, Canada, England, Australia, the Netherlands and Mexico. So wherever you lose your item, chances are we've already recovered from there.

9. Can I peel my ID labels off and re-apply them to other items?
TrackItBack ID labels are designed to adhere permanently to one item. By designing our ID labels in this way, we make sure that the item you choose to protect has identification that won't come off. By removing a label and transferring it to another item, the label will no longer adhere properly.

10. Does TrackItBack work for businesses?
We provide businesses a comprehensive system to protect the devices of their employees. With an increasing number of employees working with laptops, Blackberrys and other mobile devices, losing the valuable information stored on those devices would be devastating.

We can also provide businesses with a unique advertising tool that builds brand loyalty and fosters customer retention through customized ID labels.

11. How do I register?
Register at ‘Setup Account’ and then activate each item by choosing ‘Add an Item’ in the account area.

12. How do I change information?
At ‘My TrackItBack Account’, you can update your personal information, add new items, and update existing items.

13. What if I lose something?
Notify us at www.trackitback.com or call us toll-free at 800-987-6876. When your personal item is found, we will contact you and arrange the return for free.

14. What if I find something?
Notify us at www.trackitback.com or call 800-987-6876. We will arrange the return from there. Finders are generally not expected to pack or deliver anything. Finders also may leave the item in a designated safe location or drop-off location (such as a UPS Store). TrackItBack also can arrange a pickup directly from the finder.

15. How is the finder rewarded?
After the owner receives their personal item back, the finder receives $85 of TrackItBack ID labels plus any cash reward that the owner chooses to provide.
